Daniel Nava Heats Up Against Blue Jays, Leads Red Sox After Call-UpEditor's note: The temperature gauge is a Bill James-created statistic that measures how hot or cold hitters are. We will spotlight Red Sox and opposing team temperatures on game days.

Daniel Nava smashed a grand slam in his first big league at-bat, but he soon returned to the minors and didn't resurface for more than a year.

He was called up again this spring as the Red Sox dealt with a dearth of outfield help, and he's made good on his second chance. He's batting .315 this year with 18 RBIs.

A weekend series against the Blue Jays has been especially kind to Nava. He went 4-for-5 Friday night then drove in two runs in a 1-for-3 day on Saturday. That's sent his hitting temperature skyrocketing.

For the Jays, Edwin Encarnacion continues to lead the way. He had two hits for Toronto on Saturday and will look to help his team fend off the sweep at Rogers Centre on Sunday.

Here are the Red Sox and Blue Jays temperatures for June 3.
