Dougie Hamilton Expected to Contribute to Bruins This Year, But Growing Pains Could Be in StoreGreat expectations were thrust onto Malcolm Subban from the minute the Bruins called his name as the 24th overall pick in the NHL Draft — and not just because his brother, P.K., plays for the hated Canadiens.

Subban’s potential is undeniable, and he’s already demonstrated a large amount of skill in between the pipes that belies his relative inexperience at the position. But the truth of the matter is that not only does Subban still have a ways to go in his development, but the Bruins already have their goalie situation set — at least for the moment — with Tuukka Rask looking to pick up right where Tim Thomas left off.

So while B’s fans may be wondering when they can expect to see Subban in a Bruins uniform, another much-heralded draft pick could be making an impact on the squad sooner rather than later. That, of course, would be Dougie Hamilton.

NESN.com NHL writer Douglas Flynn held a Twitter chat on Friday to discuss the Bruins prospects, whether Boston needs an elite scorer, why Rask was signed to only a one-year deal and more.
