Kirk Gibson‘s busy. He’s got a third-place Arizona Diamondbacks team to manage and a locker room full of 25 players to keep happy. But family comes first, right?

Wrong. At least, when it comes to graduating high school.

Gibson skipped his son’s graduation ceremony in Michigan on Thursday night, but he didn’t seem all too bothered by that.

“You’re supposed to graduate,” Gibson told reporters. “His mom and the rest of the family will be there. He’s coming to see me next week.”

Well, if that’s the way he feels, it seems like it was worth it. The Diamondbacks beat the Rangers on Thursday, 11-3.
