Mets Reliever Ramon Ramirez Strains Hamstring Celebrating Johan Santana's No-Hitter, Headed to Disabled ListJohan Santana's no-hitter will be a memorable moment for years to come for many in attendance. For Mets reliever Ramon Ramirez, however, he may remember it for a different reason.

Ramirez strained his hamstring running in from the bullpen to celebrate with Santana and his teammates after the final out was recorded.

"He hadn't even gotten to the pile where they were jumping on," Mets manager Terry Collins explained. "He was just so excited. He was running in, running hard and all of a sudden, his leg grabbed him. I've never seen that."

Collins also won't be seeing much of Ramirez on the mound in the near future, as the team has placed the 30-year-old on the disabled list. Ramirez is 2-1 with a 4.78 ERA for the Amazin's so far this season.
