Pawtucket Red Sox Manager Arnie Beyeler Selected as Coach For Futures GameFirst played in 1999, the All-Star Futures Game is a chance to see a litany of the game's best prospects competing against each other on a big league stage — and this year, a familiar face to the Pawtucket Red Sox will be taking part.

Since last season, Arnie Beyeler has been leading the PawSox from the dugout as manager, having spent the previous four years in Double-A serving in the same role for the Portland Sea Dogs and the Red Sox organization. Having compiled a record as a manager of 723-691, Beyeler is a true baseball lifer, never actually making it to the big leagues, but played six seasons in the Detroit Tigers' farm system before becoming a scout, later a coach, and slowly moving up the ranks.

But on July 8, Beyeler will suit up as the manager of the World Team along with former New York Yankees Star, Bernie Williams in the Futures Game. The game will take place beneath the waterfalls at Kansas City's Kauffman Stadium, possibly the biggest stage of Beyeler's career so far.

Rosters haven't been announced yet, but, as always, it will feature a good selection of the best prospects in the game, and Beyeler will be there with them as they likely play their first games in a major league ballpark.
