Red Sox Series in Miami Recalls Preseason Incident Between Bobby Valentine and Ozzie GuillenAs the Red Sox get ready to take on Ozzie Guillen's Miami Marlins Monday evening down in Little Havana, it brings to mind an incident between Guillen and Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine during spring training.

During the March 12 ESPN nationally-televised game between the Marlins and Sox at JetBlue park, Guillen took exceptionto a foul call by first base umpire Tim Timmons on an up-the-line dribbler. So, even though the games hadn't yet started counting for anything, Guillen let Timmons have it and was eventually tossed from the game.

At JetBlue Park, the visiting team uses the first base dugout, but their clubhouse is on the left field side of the stadium. This forced Guillen to walk past the Red Sox dugout as he exited the game, and Valentine decided to give him a little wave and say "See ya!" to his Marlins counterpart. Apparently Guillen didn't see or hear Valentine, but he was informed by Reporters after the game, and responded in kind.

"I would have told him to go f— himself, too," said Guillen. "That's the way Ozzie Guillen is."

Now, the incident did not escalate beyond that, and the whole thing may well have been slightly tongue-in-cheek. However, in a matchup between two of the most fiery managers in Major League Baseball, it's not unreasonable to hope for some fireworks.
