Umpire Jim Wolf Makes Horrendous Call at Second Base in Indians-Reds Game (Video)

There are bad calls, and then there are calls like the one Jim Wolf made in the seventh inning of Wednesday's Indians-Reds game.

With two outs and Carlos Santana on first, Casey Kotchman chopped one down to Reds first baseman Joey Votto. Votto fielded the ball cleanly on the backhand and elected to go to second base with it. He had trouble with the throw, however, forcing shortstop Zach Cosart to scoop the ball out of the dirt.

No biggie. Cosart seemed to handle the errant throw just fine, resulting in what should have been the third out of the inning. Wolf didn't see it that way, though, calling Santana safe after ruling that Cosart had juggled the ball while scooping Votto's throw.

Yes, the play was a bit more awkward than it should have been, but it wasn't nearly as awkward as the horrendous call made by Wolf.

We've seen some strange calls over the years, but this one was a headscratcher.

Check out the terrible call in the video below.
