Bobby Valentine Not Bothered by Terry Francona's Presence in Red Sox ClubhouseNEW YORK — Bobby Valentine has no issue with Terry Francona's behavior.

Before Saturday's game, Francona — the former Red Sox manager and current ESPN analyst — held court in Boston's clubhouse, sitting down at a locker and chatting with a chunk of his ex-players and acquaintances for roughly 30 to 40 minutes.

It was a strange sight, considering Valentine runs the managerial show in Boston and was lounging around in his office. Francona sent Valentine a text message to apologize for being a distraction, according to MLB.com.

After the pair reunited in the hours leading up to Sunday's showdown against the Yankees, Valentine joked about the exchange.

"I yelled at him as soon as he came into my office and said 'Don't ever do that again,'" Valentine said, laughing. "No, I said 'Hey, how you doing.' We didn't bring it up. I didn't think it was any big deal. I didn't see it. I wasn't there partaking in the conversation but what's the big deal?"

Francona initially started speaking with Cody Ross, who never played under him in Boston. But little by little, Dustin PedroiaJarrod Saltalamacchia, Clay Buchholz and David Ortiz pulled up seats and reunited with their former skipper.
