When David Ortiz said that Boston was turning into the “[expletive]-hole it used to be” a couple of weeks ago, it’s quite apparent he wasn’t talking about Red Sox fans.

If for some reason he was, the Boston designated hitter has certainly changed his tune.

Ortiz sat down with FOX Sports’ Jon Paul Morosi in Kansas City at the All-Star Game to discuss not only the way this season has gone, but his future in Boston as well. The DH made it abundantly clear that he loves playing in Boston, and he’s hopeful he can finish his career as a member of the Sox.

“Hopefully Boston, man,” Ortiz said when asked about where he might be calling home next year. “I’m here right now. I love it here. I’ve been playing for a long time. I feel like I’ve been playing in front of the greatest fans of all time.

“Those fans in Boston, they get me going right now. … There are some days you feel less than others, but when you walk in front of the crowd they get you to the point where you want to be. Hopefully I can finish my career here.”
