Jon Lester Says There's 'Nothing Better' Than Playing for Red Sox, Hopes to Play Entire Career in BostonDespite having the day off as part of the All-Star break, Jon Lester apparently had a pretty busy day on Wednesday.

Lester spent part of his day fending off "fans" on Twitter who were criticizing him and the rest of his Red Sox teammates for how the first half of the season went.

Things got even more interesting during Peter Gammons' weekly radio spot on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger and Massarotti show. Gammons hinted at the fact that Lester may not be enjoying himself in Boston.

In fact, Gammons thinks Lester is so down on Boston that a trade may even be welcomed by the big left-hander.

"I just sense that Jon is so unhappy here that I'm sure it would be good for him," Gammons said of a potential trade involving Lester. "The question is how would the team survive without the hop of having Jon Lester go out and win 10 games in the second half of the season?"

Lester apparently felt the need to respond to these comments, as he once again took to Twitter to try and set the record straight.

This is what he had to say:

Lester went 5-6 with a 4.49 ERA over the first half of the season.
