Rajon Rondo Thinks He's Best Point Guard in NBA, Hopes to Play Entire Career With CelticsNo one has ever questioned Rajon Rondo's confidence, but a few players around the league might question his latest opinion.

Rondo recently attended the Nike World Basketball Festival in Paris, and he sat down for an interview with the French website BasketSession.com. During the interview, his confidence was obvious.

"As I said earlier, I have matured a lot, and my game has also," Rondo said in response to a question regarding his leadership. "I think I am one of the best playmakers in the league. I think I'm the best point guard in the league."

Rondo is obviously an exceptional talent, earning three All-Star selections while continuing to bring his game to new heights. But a few other NBA point guards — including Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Russell Westbrook — might have a bone to pick with Rondo's response.

The Celtics star probably isn't concerned with their take, however. Nor is he concerned about last season's trade speculation, when some wondered whether the Celtics would deal him. Rondo said he realizes professional basketball is a business, and it's no longer normal for a player to wear the same jersey his entire career. Still, he hopes to be an exception.

"I hope so," Rondo said when asked whether he wants to play his entire career with the Celtics. "But it is not up to me. What will happen will happen."

Judging by the impact he continues to have, you can bet there are plenty of Boston fans hoping Rondo remains a Celtic for life.
