The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim started out the year cold, but since a rough first month they've been among the best teams in baseball.

The team is now reportedly engaged in trade talks with the Tampa Bay Rays for pitcher James Shields, according to ESPN's Tim Kurkjian.

In the deal, the Rays would receive outfielder Peter Bourjos and catcher Hank Conger, although pitcher Ervin Santana might also be involved. The talks are "complicated," however, because the Angels and Rays are still determining if money will be involved in the deal or if Santana will be part of it.
