Report: Chris Wilcox Returning to CelticsThe Celtics bench took a hit early on last season when Chris Wilcox went down. It looks like the big man is ready to throw on Celtic Green again, though.

Wilcox is returning to the Celtics this season, according to CSNNE.com's A. Sherrod Blakely.

Wilcox played in 28 games with the Celtics last season before a heart condition shut him down for the remainder of the year. He marked the second player on the C's to go down with a heart ailment, as Jeff Green also missed the 2011-12 campaign with such.

At 6-foot-10, Wilcox will give the C's a much-needed presence in the middle. Boston relied heavily on Greg Stiemsma and eventually Ryan Hollins after Wilcox went down last season. Wilcox, a former eighth overall pick, has bounced around the league, but he has the potential to be a solid contributor off the bench for head coach Doc Rivers.

"I'm definitely excited to be back," Wilcox told CSNNE.com.

Danny Ainge and the Celtics are continuing to make improvements to the Celtics' roster, and more moves could come, but the bench is starting to take shape.
