Report: Jeff Green Likely to Re-Sign With CelticsThe Celtics have made it perfectly clear that they want Jeff Green back in Boston this season, and it looks like they're inching closer to making sure that becomes a reality.

Green's agent, David Falk, said that the forward is likely to re-sign with the C's, according to SI.com.

"I'm confident it'll get done," Falk reportedly said of a deal with Boston. "I guess [Boston] got [Brandon] Bass' [contract] done, which is great. Jeff is trying to get a sense of what the team looks like first before he makes a commitment, but I expect he'll be there and I expect it'll be done by the 11th (when the free agency moratorium ends and deals can be formalized)."

Green missed the entire 2011-12 season after being diagnosed with a heart condition. Prior to that, he was expected to be the Celtics' sixth man and a leader off the bench, a role he will likely fill this season if he re-signs with the team.

The 25-year-old is doing his due diligence and exploring other options in free agency, but a return looks increasingly likely. It's reportedly believed that Green's contract may be "in the neighborhood" of four years for $40 million. The two sides are continuing talks, though.

"We've gotten a lot of interest from other teams. But as far as Boston, we're very confident it'll get done," Falk said. "He wants to be in Boston. He's excited about the moves they've made. He's hoping Ray Allen comes back as well, because he's very close to Ray Allen."

The Celtics have already re-signed Kevin Garnett, have reportedly agreed to a new deal with Brandon Bass, and appear to be bringing in Jason Terry. Allen's future remains up in the air, though, as it's believed that he'll choose between the Celtics and the Miami Heat.

Green averaged 9.8 points in 23.5 minutes per game in 26 games after joining the Celtics at the 2011 trade deadline. With some more time to jell and even more minutes, those numbers could increase going forward.
