Report: Nets, Magic Discussing Monster Trade Involving Dwight HowardJust hours after the Nets reportedly landed Joe Johnson, it appears they've got their sights set on the ultimate prize this offseason: Dwight Howard.

The Nets and Magic are discussing a monster trade in which Brooklyn would send Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, Marshon Brooks and first-round picks in 2013, 2015 and 2017 to Orlando in exchange for Howard, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.

SI.com's Chris Mannix reports that the Nets would be willing to take back Hedo Turkoglu — who is owed $11.4 million this season and has a player option for $12.2 million next season — as part of the deal as well. Mannix reports that the Nets can afford such a deal because they're allowed to exceed the cap in order to re-sign Lopez and Humphries — as a result of their bird rights — before flipping them to the Magic.

This report comes on the heels of speculation over the past few days that Howard was looking to join the Nets, and that Brooklyn was the only potential destination where he would sign a long-term deal.
