Report: Red Wings Make 'Hell of an Offer' for Rick NashThe Blue Jackets have been asking for the world in exchange for Rick Nash, and no one has taken the bait. The Red Wings apparently aren't giving up.

The Red Wings made the Blue Jackets "a hell of an offer" for Nash, a source with knowledge of the situation told Ansar Khan of MLive.com.

Well then. That's reason for optimism, right? Not so fast.

According to Khan, the big offer generated no conversation, and we're left in the same spot as before, with Nash trade rumors dominating NHL headlines despite teams' unwillingness to dish out the king's ransom Columbus is seeking.

It's reportedly unclear what the Red Wings offered as part of the proposed deal, but Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson told TSN last week that he's "looking to get some NHL forwards back first and foremost."

The Red Wings are on the list of teams Nash said he'd accept a trade to, but the release of that list has meant absolutely nothing. We stand at square one.
