'Ted' May Be Hilarious, But He's Still Missing One Thing That Proves He's Truly From BostonTed, Seth MacFarlane's directorial debut about a teddy bear that comes to life, has been a hit at the box office, collecting more than $200 million so far. With MacFarlane and actor Mark Wahlberg both from New England, it made sense to set the film in Boston, with Fenway Park serving as the setting for the film's climax, just as it did for 2010's The Town.

But even though MacFarlane's regional jokes were a hit with local audiences, one thing prevented Ted from truly capturing the spirit of Boston: Ted didn't seem very interested in sports. The bear didn't wear clothes in his scenes, but a Bruins jersey or Red Sox hat may have lent a bit more authenticity to his local roots.
