Adrian Gonzalez DHing as Mauro Gomez Gets Start at First Base in Series Finale With AngelsPedro Ciriaco
will be batting leadoff for the third straight game as Jacoby Ellsbury continues to hit out of the No. 2 hole.

While the Red Sox offense continues to struggle, Adrian Gonzalez will get the night off in the field as he’ll be DHing out of the No. 4 hole for Boston. Mauro Gomez, who has been back and forth between Pawtucket and the big club a few times this season, gets the nod at first base and will be manning the right side of the infield with Dustin Pedroia.

The Boston bats will be going up against Angels big money starter C.J. Wilson, who will be looking hold down the offensive juggernaut for a third straight night. Franklin Morales will get the ball for the Sox and seeking a much better outing than his disastrous five innings in New York over the weekend.

Morales won’t have to worry about Albert Pujols, however. The Angels slugger is out of the lineup after leaving the game on Wednesday night with calf tightness, although it’s unclear if he might be available to pinch-hit later in the game.
