Alex Rodriguez Voted Phoniest MLB Player by Peers, While Yankee Teammate Ranks SecondAlex Rodriguez
is a phony. A great, big phony.

Rodriguez was voted the phoniest player in baseball in a recent Sports Illustrated poll. The poll consisted of 232 major leaguers, and Rodriguez received 26 percent of the votes.

Even more interesting about Rodriguez's results is that he received 64 percent of his votes from players in the American League, with 44 percent of those coming from players in the AL East, according to the New York Daily News. Clearly, A-Rod is not well received amongst the Yankees' division rivals.

Rodriguez's teammate, Nick Swisher, ranked second on the not-so-illustrious list, tallying 14 percent of the votes. Nyjer Morgan (11 percent), Brian Wilson (9 percent) and Brandon Phillips (5 percent) round out the top five.

Rodriguez has received plenty of accolades over the years, but his recent "awards" have been rather uflattering. Rodriguez was also voted most overrated in a similar Sports Illustrated poll.

On marches the A-Rod hate parade.
