Dave Henderson Trade, Bobby Kielty Signing Among Red Sox' Top 10 August Transactions (Photos)The majority of wheeling and dealing in baseball comes before the July 31 trade deadline. But that doesn't mean all activity comes to an end when the calendar turns to August.

There's still plenty of transactions that take place later in the season, and the Red Sox have reaped the benefits of a number of August transactions. Some came via trade, while others were simply the signing of an impactful free agent.

A number of the players the Red Sox have scooped up in August have gone on to play a role in the postseason. That includes Bobby Kielty, who hit what ended up being the World Series-clinching home run in Game 4 in 2007.

Other players, like Rod Beck, never enjoyed postseason success, but still proved to be valuable contributors during their time in Boston.

A lot was taken into consideration when developing this list of the best August transactions. In fact, one deal even involves bringing in a player who never ended up playing for the Red Sox.
