Former National League MVP Jeff Kent to Appear on ‘Survivor: Philippines’ (Video)

Jeff Kent won the 2000 MVP and came within a couple outs of winning a World Series as a member of the San Francisco Giants. Now, he will face an even more difficult challenge: playing Survivor.

The 44-year-old retired ballplayer has been cast in the latest season of the hit television show, and will be heading to the Philippines in the hopes of outwitting, outplaying and outplaying the show’s other contestants.

“I’m a normal guy,” Kent says, “just like everybody else.”

“Normal guys” probably wouldn’t be able to survive Barry Bonds the same way that Kent did, but that may pale in comparison to some challenges he will face on the upcoming season. Check out more from Kent in the video below.
