Timmy McCarthy is an Irish play-by-play TV announcer. That is a fact. Listening to him call a Team USA basketball game at the Olympics is absolutely fantastic. That part is opinion, but it might as well be fact.
According to Grantland, McCarthy had the call for the Americans’ recent game with Tunisia for Irish TV network RTÉ. McCarthy’s excitement for what he does and for basketball is incredibly obvious as you can almost hear him jump out of his seat with every play that borders on pretty good.
Making it all even better, of course, is McCarthy’s thick Irish accent. Check it out in the video below.
