Gillette Stadium will be rocking this weekend, but Tom Brady and the Patriots won’t be anywhere to be found.

One week after Bruce Springsteen rocked the Razor, it’s Kenny Chesney‘s turn to take the stage in Foxboro for his annual country music bash. The country music superstar is on the last leg of his summer tour, and he’ll do his annual New England shows on Friday and Saturday night.

The country music superstar is no stranger to the Boston sports scene, either. He’s a Red Sox fan who’s thrown out the first pitch at Fenway Park, is a noted Red Sox fan and has even recorded a song about a Sox fan titled “Boston.”

“It’s really ironic that you grow up and start doing this for a living, and a lot of the guys that are on the Red Sox all the sudden are fans of your music and next thing you know, you’re up there fielding grounders on second base at Fenway Park,” he said in an interview with ESPN Radio in 2009.

To get ready for the shows, Chesney took to the Gillette Stadium nosebleeds to take in the atmosphere hours before his show. He also did so while wearing a Patriots helmet.
