Lionel Messi-Cristiano Ronaldo Handshake Snub Fuels Rumors of Bitter Feud (Video)Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo shouldn’t bother telling people their rivalry is a figment of the world’s imagination.

Following Real Madrid’s victory in the Spanish Supercup, the two superstars stood within touching distance of one another as they were shaking hands with the referees, but they didn’t even bother acknowledging each other before walking away.

The incident was caught on video, allowing fans and the media to state what is painfully obvious: The two best soccer players in the world power the two best teams in the world. But they don’t seem to care for each other.

Messi claims the two do not share a rivalry and that it is a media creation. He admits he does not have a relationship with Ronaldo, but also adds he doesn’t have one with most players.

Ronaldo is getting tired of the comparisons, and wants to put them to bed by freely admitting that he is the better player. He has offered little insight into his feelings toward his FC Barcelona counterpart.

The debate over which player is better will rage until the end of time. We should add a new question. Who is the better sportsman (in terms of displaying sportsmanship)? Ronaldo or Messi?
