Marco Scutaro Wears Wrong Jersey in Game But Ends Up Rallying Giants After SwitchingMarco Scutaro
is still learning the proper protocol in
San Francisco. Acquired at the trade deadline from Colorado, the utility
infielder has bolstered the club's offense, hammering two home runs and 20 RBIs
in 32 games.

But Scutaro's lack of familiarity with the organization's rules
resulted in quite an embarrassing mistake. During Thursday's game against the
Astros, Scutaro was sweating so much that he switched jerseys in the fourth
inning.

One problem — instead of wearing the
jersey that had "San Francisco" written on the uniform, he donned one
with an "SF" one it — usually worn during Sunday games.

"I didn't notice till I was in the dugout, but the
pitcher [Ryan Vogelsong] was ready," Scutaro said.
"I thought, 'Well, it'll be one inning. Hopefully, nobody will
notice.' "

Oh, they did. In between the bottom of the fourth and the
top of the fifth inning, Scutaro was forced to rush back to the clubhouse to
swap into the right uniform before rejoining his teammates.

It turns out it was a rally jersey for San Francisco. After
Scutaro made the switch, the Giants scored
eight runs and managed to topple the Astros 8-4.
