Olympics Schedule for Wednesday Includes All-U.S. Beach Volleyball Final as Misty May-Treanor, Kerri Walsh Jennings Go for Gold

Tuesday was a day for women’s gymnastics, especially Aly Raisman.

The Needham, Mass., native’s gold medal-winning routine on the floor exercise and bronze medal on the balance beam was the perfect way to end her first Olympics.

The U.S. track team also did well, taking silver and bronze in the 100-meter hurdles, although Lolo Jones failed to medal in the long-anticipated event.

Going into Wednesday’s events, China has 73 medals, 34 of them gold. The United States is right behind with 71 total medals, 30 of them gold.

11 a.m., NBC — Men’s Volleyball, USA vs. Italy
The 4-1 men’s volleyball team, led by captain Clay Stanley, takes on the 3-2 team from Italy. The winner will play either Brazil or Argentina in Friday’s semifinals.

1:10 p.m., NBC — Men’s Pole Vault and 5,000 meters, Women’s 800-meter
Top vaulters will advance to the finals, held on Saturday.

4 p.m., NBColympics.com (Live stream — will be shown on NBC in primetime) — Women’s Beach Volleyball
It’s an all-Team USA final, as Americans Misty-May Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings look to cap an incredible Olympic career on sand while taking on countrymen April Ross and Jen Kessy in the women’s gold medal match.

5:15 p.m., NBC Sports Network — Men’s Basketball, USA vs. Australia
It’s go time for the U.S. squad as Team USA enters the knockout rounds. LeBron James will look to help keep the U.S. squad undefeated at the 2012 London Olympics by beating Australia in the quarterfinals. The winner plays the Argentina-Brazil victor.
