Red-Hot Jacoby Ellsbury Leads Red Sox Into Matchup With Heavy-Hitting Angels Lineup
Editor's note: The temperature gauge is a Bill James-created statistic that measures how hot or cold hitters are. We will spotlight Red Sox and opposing team temperatures on game days.

Jacoby Ellsbury finished second in MVP voting last season, but hasn't been able to show off his talents this year due to injuries. Finally, he may be coming around.

The Red Sox centerfielder has been tearing it up over his last five games, batting .458 during that time, with three doubles and a home run. It was Ellsbury's second long ball of the season, and after bashing 32 in 2011, a return of his power stroke would be a welcome addition to the Red Sox as they work out the kinks with a new lineup.

One team that has had no shortage of home runs is the Los Angeles Angels, who host the Red Sox on Tuesday night. The Halos have launched 157 home runs this season, giving them the fourth-most in the big leagues. Leading the way for them are Mark Trumbo and Albert Pujols, who have 30 and 28 dingers on the year, respectively.

Trumbo has been scuffling a bit recently, but Pujols has been more than picking up the slack and the Angels should have plenty of runs to go around as the Red Sox visit Anaheim on Tuesday.

Here are the Red Sox and Angels temperatures for Tuesday, Aug. 28.
