Red Sox' Injury Issues a Factor in Team's Struggles, But Only Part of the ProblemBobby Valentine has gone through a lot as Red Sox manager already. Perhaps his most arduous task this season, though, has been trying to fill out the lineup card every night.

The Sox have no doubt had to battle injuries all season long, but that’s only part of the problem. The club has underperformed in other areas, most notably starting pitching. You also have to consider off-field problems, as well, as a lack of communication also seems to be a big problem for the club.

It’s impossible to pinpoint the biggest reason for Boston’s struggles this season, but injuries certainly have played a role. That, and much, much more.
