Red Sox Promote Jose Iglesias, Che-Hsuan Lin, Junichi Tazawa While Placing Daniel Nava on Disabled ListBOSTON — In the wake of Saturday's blockbuster trade, the Red Sox resorted to
an array of moves to fill out their roster.

With Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Nick Punto headed
to the Dodgers, the Red Sox activated Felix Doubront from the disabled list and
promoted Jose Iglesias, Junichi Tazawa and Che-Hsuan Lin from Triple-A.

Iglesias, a shortstop, is one of the organization's
most highly touted prospects. He is known for his defensive wizardry and has
improved his hitting — tabbed a question mark — by raising his average to .266
from .235 in 2011.

Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine wouldn't say how long Igleasis would stay or how much he would play.

"He’s here kind of because we needed an extra
infielder," Valentine said. "I don't have that plan yet either. It's
not like this has been a work that has been in progress in even more than
hours. Excuse my vagueness."

The Red Sox also quietly placed Daniel Nava back on the
disabled list. After missing 21 games from July 29 to Aug. 19 with a left
wrist sprain, the outfielder returned to the lineup Aug. 21.

Nava is
batting .250 with four home runs, 27 RBIs and 17 doubles in 67 games this
season.
