Rejected San Diego Padres Job Applicant Sends Hilarious, Obscene Response Letter to TeamIt’s a tough job market out there these days, and rejection never feels good.

One potential applicant who applied for a job in the San Diego Padres ticket office, however, had enough of the team denying her and fired back in a big way when the team had the gall to invite her to a job fair.

Taylor Grey Meyer had applied for a job with the Padres at least 30 times in her estimation, but never heard anything positive back — not even an invitation to an interview. So when the team reached out with an offer for her to attend the Sports Sales Combine event held at Petco (at a cost of $495), the former law student decided that she had had enough.

“I realize I may be burning a bridge here,” she wrote back, “but in the spirit of reciprocity, I would like to extend you a counter-offer to [expletive] my [expletive]. Clearly, I don’t have one of these, so my offer makes about as much sense as yours.”

She continued, ranting about her credentials while blasting the team for its refusal to grant her an interview.

“Maybe you’re right,” she concluded. “Maybe I’m not the best fit for your company. But here’s a nice fit, my foot in your [expletive].”

Upon receiving the letter, however, the team wasn’t upset. In fact, one anonymous member of the Padres sales team told Deadspin, “Taylor’s letter was too incredible for anyone to get offended.”

So, the Padres did what anyone would do upon receiving such a fantastic e-mail: they forwarded it to everyone else in their office. In turn, those recipients forwarded it on themselves, and in the end the letter made the rounds in front offices of just about every pro sports league in America.

Meyer, however, doesn’t regret sending the letter — she told Deadspin that she already has one job interview as a result of her newfound fame.
