Hey, everyone wants to be loved.
That includes American swimmer Ryan Lochte, who has emerged as one of the most popular and most polarizing athletes at the London Olympics.
Lochte, who turned 28 on Friday, spends most of his time training in an effort to become the best swimmer possible, which makes finding Mrs. Right a difficult task. As a result, the Olympian’s relationships are short-lived. Really short-lived, according to Lochte’s mother.
Ike Lochte, Lochte’s mom, visited with Matt Lauer of The Today Show this week, and she revealed what many probably already knew.
“He goes out on one-night stands,” Lochte’s mother said of her son. “He’s not able to give fully to a relationship because he’s always on the go.”
Well, by all accounts, the Olympic Village is the perfect place for a single guy looking to do a little mingling. So can you really blame Lochte? Why settle for just any girl when you can have your fun now and settle down later?
Lochte admits, however, that he is in search of the right companion, even if his efforts haven’t produced many long-lasting relationships.
“Is there decent girl out there who doesn’t lie?” Lochte asked during an interview with ESPN. “They all lie. They’re all evil. I just want to meet someone who is real, who is honest … who wants to love me as a person.”
Lochte was also asked a number of questions pertaining to his sex life during an interview with Women’s Health magazine. He revealed that he uses the wink technique to meet women, he likes women in white jeans, and he finds fashion to be extremely important.
As for what confused him about the opposite sex?
“It’s impossible to know what they’re thinking,” Lochte told Women’s Health. “If I could have one superpower, I’d be like Mel Gibson in What Women Want, where he reads women’s minds.”
Don’t we all wish we could have that power, Ryan? Don’t we all?
