Their biggest star left this offseason, and the Orlando Magic are vowing to do something about it.

Exactly what they are vowing to do is unclear. But something.

The Dwight Howard-less Magic unveiled a new marketing campaign that will blanket the Orlando and central Florida market beginning Oct. 1, according to the team's website. The slogan consists of two words and one vague promise: "WE WILL."

They will… what? Lose 50 games, probably.

"The 'WE WILL' campaign speaks to the Magic's success throughout its 23-year history," explains OrlandoMagic.com writer John Denton. "Great players such as Shaquille O'Neal, Penny Hardaway, Nick Anderson, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill and Dwight Howard have come and gone through the years, but the Magic have been able to string together a history of long-standing success while owner Rich DeVos has owned the team."

The story goes on to list the franchise's achievements from the last two decades, celebrating 59-win seasons in 2009-10 and 2010-11 and boasting that the Magic have had more winning seasons over the past 20 years than the Clippers. (Yes, the Magic seriously think that this is something to brag about.) Not to be a stickler for past versus future tense, but that sounds a lot more like "WE ONCE DID" or "WE USED TO" than "WE WILL."

Also, where is the love for Scott Skiles? The franchise leader in career assists is conspicuously absent from the Magic's above list, whereas Hill, who played 184 fewer games with Orlando than Skiles, gets a spot on the list of Magic greats.

Let's not be too hard on the Magic, though. Maybe their full slogan is "WE WILL… get around to recognizing Scott Skiles at a later date."
