It’s safe to say that the Eagles are the only offensive line in the NFL with their own fire truck.
Jason Kelce was pictured arriving to the Eagles-Ravens game in all of his bearded glory, shirtless and holding an axe on the back of a fire truck.
The fire truck belongs to teammate Danny Watkins, who spent his youth in Canada as a junior firefighter. Watkins purchased the vintage truck over the offseason not to put out fires, but for his own personal, joyriding pleasure.
Kelce, who’s known as much for his epic beard as he is for his blocking skills with the Eagles, was lost for at least 4-6 weeks on Sunday after tearing his MCL and partially tearing his ACL, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News. If a knee scope Tuesday shows that Kelce requires surgery, he could be out for the rest of the season.
The Eagles almost had to call in an emergency reserve on Sunday after Kelce and starting left tackle King Dunlap went down with injuries. After dressing only seven offensive linemen, the unit was out of reserves. According to Andy Schwartz of CSNPhilly.com, defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins was next in line, despite having never played offensive line in his life.
