Report: John Skelton Expected to Miss 2-4 Weeks, Kevin Kolb Likely to Start Against PatriotsJohn Skelton's tenure as the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback didn't last very long.

Skelton, who beat out Kevin Kolb in the preseason to earn the starting gig, suffered an ankle injury on Sunday in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. According to ProFootballTalk.com, that low ankle sprain will keep Skelton out for 2-4 weeks.

That also means that it's likely that Kolb will be handed the keys as the club's starting quarterback this weekend against the Patriots.

Kolb, a second-round pick of the Eagles in 2007, struggled last season in his first year with Arizona. He made just nine starts — going 3-6 — while throwing for 1,955 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Kolb completed six of eight passes for 66 yards and a touchdown upon coming into the Cardinals' Week 1 loss to the Seahawks.
