Report: MLB Investigating Red Sox Waiver Wire LeaksThe Red Sox were very active on the waiver wire following the July 31 trade deadline, and Major League Baseball is concerned with how much activity made it to press.

According to WEEI’s Rob Bradford, the MLB will be investigating the team’s waiver wire leaks. His source also believes that the team isn’t under suspicion for leaking any information.

MLB rules stipulate that any team or person responsible for leaking information about the waiver wire process is subject to “significant fines,” writes Bradford.

The Red Sox have made several small moves via the waiver wire — acquiring Danny Valencia from the Twins and moving Kelly Shoppach to the Mets — but the team made big news when they dealt Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Aug. 25.
