The Green Bay Packers left Century Link Field on Monday night with the overwhelming feeling that they had just been robbed.
Now, it appears that the Packers can't even appeal the last-second touchdown call that handed the Seahawks a 14-12 win.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Tuesday that the league has no appeals process for the situation, so the outcome of the game will stand, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
The final play, a Hail Mary heave from Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson, was fought for in midair by Packers defensive back M.D. Jennings and Seahawks receiver Golden Tate. Two replacement officials convened on the play, with one signaling for a touchdown and the other calling for an interception and touchback to end the game. After an official review, the play was "confirmed" as a touchdown, and the Seahawks walked away with the win.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy and several players, including wide receiver Greg Jennings and offensive tackle T.J. Lang, responded with some fiery comments about the controversial ending and the replacement officials.
They won't have their day in court this time around, though, and the call could very well cost them a playoff berth.
