Don’t call Bryce Harper overanxious, bro.

Harper was asked by a reporter following Monday’s Nationals-Cardinals game whether he’s a bit overanxious at the plate, and the inquiry didn’t sit well with the Washington outfielder.

The 19-year-old, who has shown in the past that he can be a bit cranky when it comes to dealing with reporters, immediately asked whether he looks “overanxious.” When the reporter insisted that might be the case, Harper immediately resorted to his usual sarcasm.

“Maybe you should be the hitting coach,” the rookie said.

Harper is 1-for-10 in the first two games of the Nats-Cards NLDS series, which is tied at one game apiece. The series now shifts to Washington, where an apparently even-keeled Harper will look to get back on track in front of his home crowd.

Check out Harper’s postgame comments below, with the quip coming at around the 45-second mark.
