Celtics Exercise Fourth-Year Option on Guard Avery BradleyOpposing guards will continue to dread playing the Celtics for the next two seasons, as Avery Bradley will be under contract with the team through 2014.

The Celtics announced on Tuesday that they had exercised the fourth-year option on Bradley's rookie contract, which would keep him in Boston through at least the next two seasons. Bradley is now eligible for free agency in the summer of 2014, when the Celtics will be able to match any offer Bradley receives from another team.

Bradley did not participate in any of the Celtics' preseason games as he recovers from offseason surgery on both shoulders. His return is tentatively set for December.

Bradley appeared in 64 games last season, starting 28, while averaging 7.6 points and 1.8 rebounds per game and emerging as one of the league's top perimeter defenders.
