Dwight Howard got a taste of his own medicine on Sunday.
Howard, a notorious prankster, fell victim to a goof carried out by his new teammates just before his Lakers debut. The Lakers were set to run out onto the Staples Center court as a team prior to Sunday's preseason game against the Kings, but after Howard began making his way onto the hardwood, the rest of the team stayed back and left the big man all by his lonesome.
Howard was all smiles once he realized what happened, and Pau Gasol quickly joined in on the laughter. After that, though, it was down to business, with Howard looking very impressive despite the Lakers' loss.
The debut even had Howard a little misty-eyed before the opening tip.
"I actually shed a couple of tears," Howard said after the game. "During the starting lineups, one of my teammates caught me, so I tried to hide it, but I was just excited. It is really emotional, because I hadn't been on the court in a while. I didn't know what to expect, but it's a very humbling experience."
