Report: Terrell Suggs Will Play Sunday in Ravens-Texans Matchup Despite Healing Achilles InjuryWith Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb out for the season, the Ravens may be getting desperate on defense.

NFL.com is reporting that Terrell Suggs will play on Sunday against the Texans after being activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Suggs tore his right achilles tendon in May. Typical recovery time for a similar injury can be up to 11 months.

Suggs only started practicing this week on his repaired tendon. A player can practice while on the PUP list for up to three weeks before they're activated or placed on injured reserve. Suggs had a career-best 14 sacks last season for the Ravens.

With so many injuries on the Baltimore defense — Ed Reed and Haloti Ngata are also banged up — bringing Suggs back so soon may be viewed as a desperation move by the Ravens.
