Report: Texans Fear Brian Cushing Suffered Torn ACL Against JetsOne of the NFL's best teams may have lost one of its best defensive players for the season.

Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing went down on Monday night with what appeared to be a pretty serious leg of injury. It's starting to sound like the team's and fans' biggest nightmares may be realized in relation to the injury.

ProFootballTalk.com reports that the Texans fear that Cushing has indeed tore his ACL. They will know for sure once Cushing undergoes an MRI on Tuesday, and if it is indeed a torn ACL, the linebacker will likely be done for the season.

The Houston Chronicle's John McClain tweeted early Tuesday morning that it appeared that Cushing had indeed torn his ACL and would be out for the season.

Cushing went down during Monday night's win over the Jets after he was the victim of a questionable low block from the Jets' Matt Slauson in the second quarter.

The fourth-year pro out of USC is one of the Texans' most important defensive players. His playmaking capabilities lead the way for one of the NFL's best defenses. This is nothing new for the Texans, though, who lost defensive end Mario Williams for the majority of last season as well.
