Rex Ryan Says Mark Sanchez Is 'No Question' Still Jets' Starting QuarterbackMark Sanchez
is still the starting quarterback for the New York Jets, according to the head coach of the New York Jets.

Head coach Rex Ryan continues to stand behind his quarterback, despite continued aerial ineptitude, which was showcased for all of the nation to see on Monday during a Monday Night Football loss to the Houston Texans.

Sanchez wasn't great against Houston, which still represents something of an upgrade. However, Sanchez failed to complete 50 percent of his passes for the fourth straight week, throwing two more interceptions and being sacked three times.

Backup quarterback Tim Tebow looked fairly efficient in the snaps he saw. Then again, he only threw one pass. It was an incompletion. Tebow did, however, run for 19 yards on five rushes.

Some fans are getting impatient and are calling for Tebow to take over, but Ryan continues to stand behind Sanchez.

The head coach was asked at a news conference on Tuesday if Sanchez was the starter moving forward.

"Yeah, no question," he responded, according to the New York Daily News.

However, Ryan at least sounds open to using Tebow more often.

"I'm not going to get into the what-ifs and all of that. We're not preparing to lose, that's for sure. We're thinking we're going to win starting this week. We're planning on winning. We're planning on having success. I'm not getting into the what-ifs."

Ryan also did a little excuse-making for his No. 1.

"Last night, I thought he played pretty good. I thought he was accurate with the football. We had three drops. Obviously, one of them was a drop that led to an interception. He was just off on the other one … We had [Antonio] Cromartie beat his guy. About three or four yards behind a guy. That's probably one throw we wish, Mark wishes that he had back. Other than that, I thought he was accurate with the football."

Sanchez has completed just 47.5 percent of his passes in his last four games, a stretch in which the Jets have gone 1-3.
