Red Sox Leading Off

Remember us?
For the first time in a long time, both the Red Sox and Yankees are looking up in the AL East. Don't be surprised if this weekend's four-game series in New York features some October intensity.
Road less traveled
The Red Sox are reeling, and the Rays rolling with the best record in the majors. After sweeping Boston in April, Tampa Bay looks to bust out the brooms at Tropicana Field again.
Dome-field advantage
The Rays have taken out the Red Sox every time the two clubs have met in Tampa Bay this season. Boston hopes to end that streak in the second of three games against the Rays at Tropicana Field.
Eastern challenge
First place is on the line as the Red Sox and Rays square off at Tropicana Field. Boston leads the season series 6-3, but Tampa Bay owns the best record in the majors at 49-32.
The stopper
The Red Sox wrap up interleague play in the final game against the Houston Astros. Josh Beckett will square off against Brian Moehler as the Sox look to take their sixth road series this season.
