How do I get NESN?
NESN is a service for New
England television subscribers that is available through cable and
satellite providers in NESN's home broadcast territory (all of New
England except Fairfield County, CT). Some of NESN's programming is
available outside NESN's home broadcast territory through satellite
providers.
Why are some Red Sox related programs blacked out outside of NESN's broadcast territory?
NESN
does not have the right to distribute many Red Sox related programs
outside of our home broadcast territory due to MLB broadcast
regulations. This includes live game broadcasts, rebroadcasts, classic
games and any non-news program which includes a significant amount of
game highlights such as The Ultimate Red Sox Show.
How can I get Red Sox and Bruins live game broadcasts outside of NESN's broadcast territory?
DirecTV
and many digital cable providers offer special out-of-market packages
called MLB Extra Innings and NHL Center Ice. These season-long
packages include most of the games that are broadcast on NESN. Please
note some games may still be subject to blackouts. For more
information, contact your television service provider.
Why are some men's basketball games unavailable in my area?
This
season NESN is televising almost 60 NCAA basketball games with 16 ACC
games subject to blackout in Connecticut and outside New England. These
blackouts are due to pre-existing, multi-year TV contracts that involve
regional coverage of ACC games. They were negotiated before Boston
College was invited to join the league and before NESN became a carrier
of ACC basketball.
Can I purchase tapes of NESN programming?
Unfortunately,
NESN programming is not available for purchase because NESN does not
own the rights to redistribute most of our programming outside of when
it is broadcast on our air.
How do I submit an idea for a new show on NESN?
In
order to submit a program idea for consideration by NESN, you will need
to print, sign, and mail the document below as indicated within the
document.
Why does my video take a long time to download?
We
have optimized the video quality on NESN.com to support the standard of
quality video we provide through all our networks, be it traditional
television, online, or any form of new media. This may mean that if you
are viewing videos on a computer that has either an slower processor,
or your connection speed to the internet is slow, you may experience
some lag in the video playback on NESN.com.
