Jerry Remy to Only Work Home Games For Rest of 2009 Season

A collective sigh of relief was heard throughout Red Sox Nation two weeks ago when Jerry Remy reappeared in NESN’s play-by-play booth at Fenway Park alongside Don Orsillo. It was very comforting to see the RemDawg back at the old ballpark, and that is where the Nation will be seeing him the rest of this season.

Remy Returning to Broadcast Booth on Friday

The wait is over. Jerry Remy will return to NESN's broadcast booth on a part-time basis beginning Friday when the Red Sox host the New York Yankees. Jerry will be back alongside play-by-play man Don Orsillo to resume his role as color commentator.

Popular Announcer Will Return to Work on a Part-Time Basis for the Remainder of the Season

BOSTON, MA -- NESN announced today that longtime Red Sox color commentator Jerry Remy will return to the NESN broadcast booth on a part-time basis beginning this Friday, August 21 when the Red Sox host the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. Remy took a leave of absence in May to fully recover from the effects of cancer surgery which included a bout with depression.

There has been a Jerry Remy sighting at Fenway Park. NESN’s Red Sox color commentator joined Don Orsillo and Dennis Eckersley in the broadcast booth in the second inning of Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
