Thank you,
Darrelle Revis.
By about noon on Tuesday, I was bracing for a week full of fourth-and-2 talk everywhere I went. I mean, you know a story has taken on a life of it’s own when you flip on NPR, only to find it sounds a little like sports talk radio.
But then Revis stepped in, sparing us all.

As New Englanders no doubt remember, Week 10 on the NFL gridiron was highlighted by two of the league's best teams putting up their dukes and fighting it out to the bitter -- and I mean bitter, Patriots fans -- end. The same scenario could be found in the equally competitive NESN.com Fantasy Football League, where the two divisional leaders faced off in a massive showdown this weekend.

Worst. Decision. Ever.
Every last couch potato/NFL expert in the country is second-guessing
Bill Belichick’s decision to go for it on fourth-and-two from the Indianapolis 29-yard line, clinging to a 34-28 lead with just over 2:00 to play.

Two first-place teams. Two brilliant quarterbacks.
And one riveting rivalry.

On opening night of the NBA season,
Doc Rivers kept his Celtics players late in the locker room following a win over the Cavaliers so that they would have to watch the Lakers receive their championship rings. You know, just to remind them.
Along similar lines, I'm guessing the Red Sox didn't need to catch the highlights of the Yankees' parade last Friday. Just the thought of once again looking up at their rivals in baseball's hierarchy should serve as motivation enough.

Much like the Patriots have rolled out to a two-game lead in the AFC East thanks to their current three-game winning streak, several teams have gotten out to commanding leads in the NESN.com Fantasy Football League.

I’ll admit, I just don’t get the Wildcat.
Maybe it’s because I’m from the Montana-to-Rice and Brady-to-Moss school of football. Hey, I like a good post route. And really, who doesn’t?
