When he finds the time away from mentoring his younger Celtics teammates, freestyle rapping, wearing fur underwear or producing his All-Star Comedy Jam, Shaquille O’Neal will be hitting up Harvard Square, but he won’t be there for a book signing.

Shaq, who has officially changed his nickname to “Shamrock,” will let his fans know, via Twitter, which day and time he will show up at a bench in Harvard Square where he will pretend to be a statue. The C’s center called Toucher and Rich on 98.5 The Sports Hub on Wednesday morning to explain the event.

“I will be still for the hour … come down and sit on the bench with me and take a picture. No conversations, no nothing,” he explained.

NESN.com will showcase one Moment of Shaq every day until the Celtics open the season against the Heat on Oct. 26 at the TD Garden.

Tuesday, Oct. 5: Shaq’s a “geek.”
