The Tampa Bay Rays are fighting for every win, and it appears that they are willing to literally fight if need be.

On Monday, Fernando Rodney and Joel Peralta wore gladiator-themed helmets in the dugout while waiting for their turn to pitch against the Blue Jays. The masks, which appeared to be modelled after the one Russell Crowe wore in the Oscar-winning Gladiator move, are pretty scary looking.

As if Rodney’s 100-mph fastball wasn’t intimidating enough already.

Check out a close-up photo of the two pitchers in their battle gear below, along with a video of the duo goofing around in the dugout.
